Episode #5
Black History Month & The Large Hadron Collider
This week, we launch our new feature, Back to Black in which we profile a different black scientist, engineer or inventor every week throughout October to commemorate Black History Month. We talk to Emeka Obiodu about the important role that black people have played in the history of science and engineering. Our first profile is the astronomer and mathematician, Benjamin Banneker. This week’s STEM Ambassador is Sam Evans. He tells us about the work he does as a forensic photographer at the Cardiff University Dental Hospital. Finally, Dr. Lyn Evans from CERN finds time between the watching the Ryder Cup and flying back to Geneva to join us in the studio to talk about the Large Hadron Collider.
