The Magic of Microwaves

Microwave energy is all around us, whether it is emitted from the phones in our pockets or from the dark, cold remnants of the early universe. In this lecture we will look at microwaves and the sort of research that is done at Cardiff University using microwave techniques. This strays a long way from the traditional areas of wireless communications and microwave heating, into diverse applications such as the detection and killing of bacteria, to new types of blood glucose sensors.
