Rhys presents A Slice of Jazz live on Radio Cardiff every Saturday morning from 8-10am. The show features album reviews, artist profiles, interviews, sessions and a wide range of great jazz. It’s repeated on a number of other stations around the world including Jazz London Radio in the UK, Pure Jazz Radio in New York and All Jazz Radio in South Africa. Rhys also broadcasts science and news programmes and when not behind the mic, can be found working as an engineer for Airbus Group or on stage with his jazz band, Imperfect Tenth.

Aja & Claire present Ketch a Vibe on Electric Lion Radio and Cruise FM. Aja was a founder of The Jazz Syndicate in the early 80’s, a group of young DJs exploring jazz Music and playing venues in and around London, introducing jazz to a growing audience. Aja along with his brother Marky Mark took to internet radio, broadcasting on Jazz Syndicate Radio, voted one of the top internet stations in the world. Claire Simone has spent 20 years appearing as a solo artist and performing with a number of big bands. Ketch a Vibe combines great playlists with the duo’s own unique presenting style.

Grace presents The Jazz Lounge every Sunday from 4-6pm on K107FM. The show features music, news about upcoming gigs, interviews and live studio sessions. Grace has always had a love of jazz and has been singing semi pro since 2008. She has met an awful lot of talented people who never had an outlet on radio to expose their music to a wider audience so that is what she has set out to do with The Jazz Lounge. The show is also broadcast on Pure Jazz Radio in New York.

Chris presents Jazz Then and Now every week on Jazz London Radio. He delves into the history of the music and present what is happening on the scene today with a watchful eye on British contemporary jazz. Chris was raised in Cardiff, co-founded the Welsh Jazz Festival, helped set up the Welsh Jazz Society and recently retired after 29 years as the Director of Jazz Services. Despite his successes championing British jazz he still found the time to play himself with his latest CD, Back In Your Own Back Yard receiving excellent reviews.

Mike presents the Sunday Soul Affair on The Jazz UK every 6-8pm every Sunday. He started his broadcasting career in July 1981 with his musical mentors including Robbie Vincent, Greg Edwards, Jeff Young and Dr Bob Jones. Mike loves soul & smooth jazz and is particularly excited about introducing new songs and albums for the first time on air. His favourite artists are Earth, Wind & Fire and guitar maestro George Benson.

Ollie presents Later On on Jazz London Radio, at 8pm on Friday and 9pm on Saturday. The show features some of Ollie’s favourite modern and contemporary jazz and also delves into the modern/electronic-jazz world, playing cutting edge melodic music from around the globe. As well as being a broadcaster, Ollie is a multi-award winning drummer and composer, with a critically acclaimed debut album ‘Sutures and Stitches’ and a sophomore recording out in 2016. Ollie also writes music for picture, including nationwide adverts and promotional music for large film/tv companies.

Todd presents Todd’s Turntable which is broadcast on around 20 different stations around the world including Adore Jazz & Pure Jazz Radio in the USA and All Jazz Radio in South Africa. The show features an eclectic mix of vocal jazz, swing, blues and easy listening with a different theme each week. Todd fell in love with the Great American Songbook after he first heard a Frank Sinatra album. Working with top musicians, his audiences range from intimate jazz club settings to large-scale concert halls and festivals. Todd began his radio broadcasting career in 2010 and has also written and presented specials for BBC Radio on Frank Sinatra and Billie Holiday.

Johnny presents World Showcase on Jazz London Radio. Expect an eclectic mix of music that aims to delight, intrigue and disconcert the listener including Finnish jazz, Argentinian electronica and classical music from the Indian sub-continent. Johnny was born in Liverpool at the height of Beatlemania and has worked most of his professional life traveling the world as a teacher. As well as playing music himself, he has recently co-established the No Wahala Sounds record label which specialises in lost gems from Africa and the Indian sub-continent.

Martin presents Jazz Scene on BCB Radio. He subjects the airwaves of Bradford and virtual beyonds to what he thinks is some pretty terrific bebop, post bebop, contemporary and modern jazz. He concentrates on UK and continental jazz, with a strong presence for UK jazz from the mid-1960s/70s. He also supports local jazz by playing the music of local bands and promoting it, with his colleagues, at JATPjazz at Glyde House.

Emily presents the Latin Mix every Saturday evening on Jazz London Radio. Emily drops pure Latin and Latin tinged tunes you can dance and chill to. She also presents an occasional interview series, the Voice Mix. Born and based in London, Emily is a critically acclaimed vocalist, songwriter, composer and producer. Her music has been broadcast nationally and internationally as well as making both iTunes and Amazon download charts.

Peter has been listening to modern jazz for over 50 years and presents Modern Jazz on Hayes FM. After retiring from a proper job, Peter spent some years working with London’s F-IRE Collective, a key driver in the collectives movement that revitalised the jazz scene in both UK and Europe. Because there are so many talented but unappreciated musicians on this side of the Atlantic, Peter’s show focuses entirely on modern jazz from Europe and the UK. Sometimes challenging, you may well hear influences from rock, folk, classical, world music and more. The show is also broadcast on All Jazz Radio in South Africa.
  Rowland Sutherland
Rowland Sutherland presents The Essence of Jazz Flute and For the Love of Brazil on The Jazz UK and Totally Radio. He’s enjoyed presenting, compiling and hosting radio shows since the mid 2000s. Rowland enjoys an International career performing in many different fields of music. He regularly performs in jazz groups, new music ensembles, symphony orchestras, improv groups, various non-Western groups, pop outfits and as a soloist. Rowland is a professor of flute at Guildhall School of Music and Drama, Royal Northern College of Music, Trinity College of Music and lectures at Birmingham Conservatoire.
